Albert Camus was a French philosopher and journalist. This book, which was his debut novel I believe, lead him to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1957. Here, he explores themes related to the philosophical ideas of absurdism and existentialism. I've read reviews on Amazon about how this novel was phenomenal and makes you think and ask questions.
Although falling short of around 120 pages, I feel it may be a bit of a heavy book because of its metaphor and symbolism-filled plot; but I have always wanted to read it, and I love books that make you think and, in a way, expand your mind and thoughts. I think that this book will lead to interesting discussions for when we have virtual club meetings and I feel that some of its philosophies may be relevant today..
To make the book club more interactive as well as meet new people and create an open and like-minded community, I am planning to host virtual book club meetings through zoom! If you are interested in participating, please fill out this quick survey:
As always, stay safe and healthy!
